Repairs, Replacements, Returns & Refunds

Uh oh! There’s something wrong with my product. Can I ask for a repair, replacement, return or refund?


Under the ACCC consumer guarantee we are obliged to offer you a refund if there is a major problem with a product. A major problem is defined as the item being:

  • unfit for purpose to the extent that the item cannot be repaired or
  • significantly different from the product description

Repairs, Replacements and Returns

If there is a minor problem, we will offer a free repair or replacement. You may also be able to return the item for store credit. Items must be in their original condition: they must not have been worn, altered, damaged or washed. If you are not satisfied with your purchase you must:

  • email us within 7 days of receipt of goods;
  • return the items within 14 days of receipt of goods; and
  • provide proof of purchase, in the form of the receipt or invoice

Once we receive your item it will be assessed and processed within 48 hours. We will then ship the repaired or replacement item via standard delivery. As Sea Shell Sew items are made with limited numbers available please note your first choice may not be available in stock, and you will be offered a similar replacement in a different colour or style.

All postage and insurance costs are to be paid by the buyer. We recommend that you return the product via registered post and that you prepay all postage. You assume any risk of lost, theft or damaged goods during transit and we therefore advise you take out shipment registration or insurance with your postal carrier. Sea Shell Sew is not responsible for parcels lost or damaged in transit.

Consumer guarantees do not apply if you got what you asked for but simply changed your mind, found it cheaper somewhere else or decided you did not like the purchase.

Custom and pre-orders are exempt from the above rules and cannot be replaced or returned under any circumstances.
